California Metal Investigators Association
The California Metal Investigator's Association (CMIA) started in 1960 to increase the awareness of metal thefts and to develop a network of professional contacts, both from the public and from private sectors, in which a rapid exchange of information and intelligence can be shared.
The members of the organization are from Electric, Gas, Water, Telephone Utilities, Aerospace, Manufacturing, and Petroleum companies. Local law enforcement from the counties of Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, Riverside and Ventura are represented, along with State enforcement agencies.
Although theft of metals has been the group’s primary focus, the informal “round-house” meeting style allows for (and we strongly encourage) an exchange of information on any subject pertinent to the group. For more information on CMIA, contact the Webmaster at cmia_us@yahoo.com.
